Faith & Speaking

I am a lover of Jesus and He is my personal savior. I would be nothing without Him. I don't always succeed, but I try desperately to live my life in a way that honors His name. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of prayer and forgiveness.

I am overcome with gratitude as I reflect on the truth that God sent his only Son to suffer and die a horrible and brutal death so that you and I may have eternal life through Him. Easter is such a sentimental time for me because it was on Easter Sunday (April 4, 1994) at the age of 8 years old, I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. I can remember the details so vividly and when I reflect back on that day my heart feels the exact same way. It starts pounding and I become emotional just thinking of the day and thanking God for giving me the opportunity to truly come to know Him as a young child. I am so thankful that I was brought up in a Christian home and that my salvation was celebrated among loved ones. I pray that each one of you sweet friends will come to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior if you don't already. The Christian life isn't easy, but it's an eternal life, and that's worth every obstacle I will face.

I have been saved by grace alone through faith alone. I was bought at a high price, and therefore I am not my own. I have been saved from myself. I can not walk through this life on my own. Everything I am and everything I have is in His holy name.  I am imperfect and I am a sinner. I sin each and every day, and that disappoints me. I struggle with taking my thoughts captive and holding my tongue. Thankfully, we serve a merciful God who loves each and every single one of us unconditionally and forgives us willingly-if we'll only ask Him to. Every day sin humbles me to know just how much I need a Savior. And goodness gracious, aren't we blessed that we have a Savior to meet our needs? He will never leave us nor will He forsake us.
What a promise.

I never dreamed that the Lord would call me to publicly share my story, my testimony, to an audience of people. As my sweet friend, Sibi says, "But God..."

Sharing my story is not an easy thing to do; however, when I think about how God has called me for such a time as this, it is easy to minister to others, especially women.

My heart's desire is to share God's forgiveness, mercy, redemption and unfailing love with women.
Ministering to others who have walked through fire and who are wounded is a tremendous blessing to me.
Your past does not have to define you, because you have a Heavenly Father who has created an opportunity for you to base your identity in Him.

These are my favorite devotions.

"The Lord is my strength and my song, He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him" Exodus 15:2

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" Romans 8:28

"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end — Because I am God, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you: all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in! That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you.” Isaiah 43:1b-4 (The Message)

Psalm 38:15, “I wait for you, O LORD; you will answer, O Lord my God.” (NIV)

Romans 8:25, “But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” (NIV)
