Thomas Rhett, Brantley Gilbert & Cole Swindell

The week of Brandon's birthday we went to a couple of concerts in Macon to celebrate.
We, me especially, are huge country music fans...and so many of our favorite country musicians hail from our great state of Georgia!
Brantley Gilbert and Thomas Rhett came to town together on Brantley's Let It Ride tour.
I have to say, I absolutely loved Brantley Gilbert's first album, and I still love a lot of his newer music, too.
He grew up in Jefferson, Georgia, which is about 45 min. from my hometown and we were high school rivalries, had several mutual friends and hung out together at a few pasture parties.
I hate to say it, but I was a much bigger fan of his appearance and persona back in the day.
I'm just not into tattoos, piercings and skulls everywhere, but whatever floats his boat.
I've seen Brantley perform several times, especially when he was just getting started and I wish the best for him.
I mainly came to see Thomas Rhett because I LOVE his music.
Our tickets were in the pit really close to the stage and the crowd was rough.
Like using drugs and fighting rough.
What is wrong with people?! Why can't anyone just have a good time without getting blitzed and making a scene?
I swear I would be shocked if half of the folks there even remembered the show.
I've never been a drinker and I don't need anything to help me have a good time-I'm there for the music!
Thomas Rhett, from Valdosta, put on a great show! Proud of him!

We left the show early because it was just getting too crazy, but we heard everything we wanted to hear.
Round 2: Brandon's actual birthday fell on a Saturday and we worked, of course.
Then Brandon came home and got in the bed and took a 3 hour nap.
We he woke up I was ready to go see Cole Swindell, from Bronwood!
Cole Swindell is awesome!
He is so talented, especially in the songwriting department.
My biggest complaint about him was that he waited until 11:30pm to come out on stage.
We were right up in front of the stage and he reached out and touched my hand and fist bumped Brandon's, which was pretty awesome.
I love it that he sang so many of the songs he wrote that other artists have released like:
"Get Me Some of That" (Thomas Rhett)
"Outta My Head" (Craig Campbell)
He also wrote multiple songs on Luke Bryan's Crash My Party and Spring Break albums.
We stayed until the end for this one-the crowd was much better.
I also got a guitar pick!
Brandon's birthday request was to eat at the Waffle House on the way home.
I know it's so anti-Southern of me, but I am just not a fan of that place.
But, I obliged for my honey and it was worth it.
I just wanted him to have a good time.
2AM breakfast?! Why not? You have to live a little.

  4. I like one or two drinks & that is it... I will never be a huge drinker to where I am so drunk that I cannot remember anything! That just does not sound fun to me ever! I like knowing what I am doing & knowing where I am at... I am glad you & Brandon had fun at the concerts :)

  5. I agree with you - not a huge fan of Brantley's look. Feels like some weird love-child of country and dirty grunge genres. You guys looked adorable and sounds like it was a great time! :)

  6. I also do not understand why people have to drink or do drugs to enjoy themselves. Happy Belated birthday Brandon.
