Ellie Anna's Baptism

Sunday we had the joy of watching our Goddaughter, Ellie Anna, get baptized.
The entire day was just sweet and special and spent with our friends, who aren't our family by blood, but our family in Christ.
The princess herself patiently awaiting her "sprinkle."
She will be four months old on July 10...it seems like she was just born.
Our beautiful friends-we are so proud of the parents they are!
Charlie squeezing on those sweet cheeks.
Ellie Anna was perfect during church-she never once even whimpered or began to cry.
After her baptism she went right to sleep and slept through the duration of the service.
Pastor Don showing all the children of the church their new sister in Christ.
So proud of Phil and Meg.
After church we went over to Meg's parent's house to finish the last minute details of food preparation before dinner.

Busy Bee (Mrs. Helen) preparing food in her kitchen.
She is the angel who sent me the beautiful card and triple strand pearl bracelet before the Pearl Event in May.
As always, Busy Bee did a beautiful job with all the details of the decor.
Is she not a doll?! I know I'm biased, but seriously!
Her smile lights up the world.
Another tradition they do after a baptism is to have the baby smash his or her foot into a cake to symbolize their first day in their Christian walk.
As a Baptist, we believe in baptism by immersion after one has accepted Christ as his or her personal Savior, so I have never seen this particular religious tradition.
We often do baby dedications at church, but we do not baptize before salvation.
Even though our traditions are different, I still appreciate the differences and the fact that our friends are dedicated to raising their children to walk in truth, so we will always be supportive of them.
As Godparents we are committed to setting the best example we can of the love of Christ, unfailing and unconditional.
We are committed to praying for each of them without ceasing.
 What a beautiful family!
What a treasure these pictures are to us!
We are blessed beyond measure, blessed in triple portions.
If you heard my testimony at The Pearl Event then you can grasp just how special these 3 gifts are to us.
God is a God of details and He knew the details of this day long before I could have ever imagined it.
I am so overjoyed thinking of all the things I will get to do with this sweet girl throughout her life.
Cousins: Jake, Luke, Charlie, Sam and Ellie
Such a great day for us as a couple!
Me and my best friend. Even though we are 9 years apart and opposite in so many ways, she is everything I'm not and she makes me a better person-and I love her for that.
We are the same on the important things: faith, family, food and travel.
 Melts my heart!
Sam loves his Uncle Brandon, and while he adores his baby sister, he did not like sharing his Uncle Brandon.
After a fabulous day celebrating Ellie with loved ones and a wardrobe change, they blew me away once again with a Mother's Day gift.
There is a local place where they live that you can paint all sorts of gifts and pottery called BareWare.
Well, they made me a picture frame, beach themed of course, with each of the boys' thumbprints and Ellie Anna's footprint...and along the top of the frame it reads, "Happy Mother's Day Aunt Cherish 2013."
I cried. Then I cried some more later that night. What a treasure.
I can't even put it into words what that gift means to me.
This is a day we will never forget.
We will cherish it and hold it near to our hearts.
God is so very good.
"All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children."
Isaiah 54:13

  6. How adorable! I'm Methodist and was baptized as an infant but I've also never heard of the cake smashing. My fiance is Baptist and this is one topic we often discuss. You will do a wonderful job guiding Ellie!

    1. Meredith, isn't it interesting to learn of different traditions? I'm sure you and your fiance do have some great conversations like we do discussing similarities and differences between Methodists and Baptists. Thank you! xoxo

  11. Is there a place to hear the pink pearl event speakers online?

    1. Hey there! Unfortunately there is not, for numerous reasons, but mainly to protect the speakers. Each of our husbands filmed our individual sessions, which range from 40 minutes to just over and hour. I'm sorry!

  13. Looks like the day was beautiful on all accounts. And I absolutely love the tradition of the foot smash cake….too bad my little ones are already baptized, I would have loved to incorporate that. Perhaps I could find a way to work it into Easter lent.
