Peachy in Georgia

Well, y'all, it's peach season here in Georgia!
I have been waiting with baited breath for this time of year.
There are so many different varieties of peaches, and living in the Peach Belt, we are fortunate enough to be able to sample them all any time we want.
The peach trees are beginning to hang full of fresh fruit with skins the color of a summer sunset.
The first taste of a red fleshed peach makes the inside of my mouth tingle.
They are the most flavorful with the perfect mix of sweet and a touch of tang.
Out of this world, I tell you.
I have a little collection of Georgia Peach dishes and platters, which I adore and love to use this time of year.
Y'all know I'm a proud Georgia Peach!
Isn't this hand towel the cutest?!
When we were in Savannah last month, Brandon had to go to Jos. A . Banks to be fitted for a suit, which is conveniently located beside the Palm Avenue Lilly Pulitzer store.
He knows how much a adore Lilly, and he especially knew I'd been eying one scarf in particular.
Well, he was a dear and got it for me.
It's the Georgia scarf from the Murfee State Scarf Collection.
I love this scarf and would give anything if they had a bag in this print as well!
Brandon knows how much I love our state and the South in general, and when he saw it he agreed that I had to have it.
I love that I can feel like I have all the places I've called home wrapped around my neck in one beautiful, pink treasure.
A treasure it is. As long as I'm living I'll be wearing this gem.
I could not have designed it better myself!
I love some of the other state scarfs, too. Y'all go check them out here.
Now that I've shown an excessive amount of love for my home state, come on over and let me serve you a big bowl of my homemade peach cobbler and we'll sit a chat for a spell!
If you can't come over an have some, click here to get my recipe!
Note-if you want to use only peaches, go for it-I certainly do sometimes.
Enjoy!

  4. Looks fabulous my dear! That scarf is precious. I have my eye on the Florida one. I saw they made it in a bag too... My word, why do we have to love Lilly so much? : ) and even though I could print and make the peach cobbler myself I'd much rather hop on over to your place so I could sit with you and eat it! Take care!

  6. Love your scarf. I've had my eye on the Florida scarf for a while also. And peaches are my favorite fruit, peach cobbler is my favorite dessert and Chick-fil-a peach shakes are my all time favorite treat ever. Maybe I should of been born in Georgia. Thanks for the recipe.

  8. I've not seen those scarves before, but I'm quite certain I need the GA one. I also have some ridiculous Georgia state pride. I'm jealous of you being in the Peach Belt, I've had a hankering for peaches for weeks! I realize I'm not that far from it, but haven't yet had the time to make the trip.

  10. Ooo I love that scarf. I love Georgia. I didn't have the opportunity to grow up here but live here now, on Jekyll Island currently. I need to find somewhere to experience these amazing peaches. I want to make your recipe :) I have a three day weekend coming up next weekend. Any suggestions of where to go visit? I'm trying to explore Georgia as much as possible while I'm here.

    1. Hey Heather! I'm so jealous you are living on Jekyll! We have made a lot of great memories there and go there quite a bit! I think I may be late on your 3 day weekend, but there are tons of great places to visit! If you come to Macon let me know and you can stay with us and you can get all the peaches you'd ever want! We love camping on Cumberland Island and St. Marys, too, which is really close to you. We love the Okefenokee Swamp, Savannah, St. Simons, and more. Thomasville is a great town to visit in Southwest, GA. Athens is an awesome place to spend a 3 day weekend, too. Of course, the mountains are always great, too. Dahlonega is my hometown and it is just fabulous! Hope this helps you some! Thank you for taking the time to ask me! :) Have a wonderful day! xoxo
