Bridal Shower at Canoe on the Chattahoochee

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending a wedding shower for one of my dearest friends, Elaine.
Elaine and Brandon were lab partners in Vet school and consequently we spent a lot of time together.
Elaine and I served on 3 veterinary missions trips together and have shared the darkest places of hearts with one another.
She is a true sister in Christ and I could not be happier for her as she has finally found her Prince Charming that she has been waiting so long for.
The shower was at Canoe, a gorgeous and delicious restaurant in the Vinings neighborhood of Atlanta, right on the riverbanks of the Chattahoochee River.
We dined al fresco and even though it was near 90 degrees outside we never knew it.
There was a constant breeze and no one was sweating-very comfortable.
Elaine and me-her finace is one lucky man to have her!
She has the sweetest, most gentle spirit and the purest heart.
Plus, she is a fantastic veterinarian.
These were the views from where we were sitting. Just beautiful.
I had the special, which was a salmon burger topped with applewood smoked bacon, a fried egg, and grilled tomatoes with lettuce.
It was wonderful.
Elaine's cake said, "Happily Ever After" on the top-precious!
 The ladies at the shower.
So great to catch up with everyone!
Canoe plays host to a variety of events including weddings and receptions. What a beautiful setting.
Erin, who was also in Brandon and Elaine's vet school class just had her first baby 2 months ago!
Her baby girl was so precious and so good.
Y'all, we were there for 3.5 hours and that baby never once cried or fussed.
In fact, Erin finally had to wake her up after the first 2 hours to feed her.
Such a happy and healthy girl!
What a wonderful day with friends and fellowship.
We can't wait to get together again at the end of June for the wedding.
It's going to be beautiful.

    1. Thank you, Rachel!! Y'all would love it!! (The dress was a $10 clearance find at Belk last year-I spent more on alterations than the dress, but I couldn't pass it up!) :) Love you! xoxo

  7. I've recently found your blog and have gone through & caught up! I loved reading your Savannah post. My husband & I will be celebrating 10 years of marriage next summer. I'm not a fan of flying so we've been trying to think of somewhere within driving distance (it's still 12 hours...but doable...espically without children in the car!) Anyway, I would love your recommendations. Where to stay (Savannah, Tybee Island, etc.), where do eat, where to shop, any other things I can't miss out on! You can email me at amandabarham2@yahoo.com if that's easier. Thanks so much!

    1. Hey Amanda!
Thank you for reading and for commenting!! I will try to get you some info together for your trip!! :) How exciting! Y'all will love it! Which direction will you be coming from (North, South, West)? That will help me with travel details! I look forward to getting to know you! xoxo :)

I sure do love hearing from y'all-you make my day!
