A Huge Surprise

What a wonderful weekend we spent with some of our best friends and Godsons! It was filled with many precious moments, laughter, and as always a few tears, too. We got each of the boys a new jumbo coloring book with a big box of new crayons. We also got them the cutest UGA books, too. We probably made a mistake by giving them their coloring books before the big card, but I figured they wouldn't really care much about the coloring books anyway. But, I'm happy they were such a huge hit!!
Here is the video of our big surprise gift to them all:
Brandon and I were SO excited to give them this gift! We could not get to their house quick enough to give them this card. We've been planning it out for a few weeks now, and the suspense was killing us. But, I LOVE to be surprised, and I love to pleasantly surprise others, too, so it was well worth the wait to tell them in person. The North American Veterinary Conference is in Orlando every year in January, so we are going to go during that conference so our guys can get their continuing education in and have a fun vacation, too. Brandon and I were talking about how we would love to just be able to surprise people with things they need, sort of like Extreme Home Makeover, but obviously we couldn't be that extreme.
I have shared how much I love Meg's parents, too. They all live on family land and hour and fifteen minutes west of us, and anytime we are there we are family, too. Her parents were SO generous as always. For my belated birthday gift and Valentine's Day, they kept the boys and sent the 4 of us to eat at Bonefish Grill-what a gift! It was so nice to have a date night with our dear friends. Meg knows me so well and was such a doll to give me such a sweet birthday present: The Columbus, GA Junior League Cookbook, Then and Now, and a Vera Bradley cosmetic case. We are both in the Junior League (her Columbus, me Athens-we both used to be in Athens) and she knows how much I love Junior League cookbooks! For Christmas she got me that darling red and black chevron Spartina wristlet, which she thought would be perfect for UGA games. I loved everything!
We didn't get any pictures of us at dinner, but I did get a few of some of the food. :)
Meg's parents always have our bedroom ready with fresh linens and the lamps turned on. This time we had a card and Valentine's candy waiting for us.
Meg and I stayed up way too late chatting and catching up Saturday night. Sunday we went to church and then her parents took us all out to eat again at Jason's Deli. Sunday afternoon we played outside with the boys and took a ton of pictures.
Needless to say, we are so excited about our big trip next January! If any of you have any tips or suggestions about Disney we'd love to hear them! We are blessed.

  1. How fun--that is just the sweetest gift! I want to take Wyatt to Disney in a year or two. I have several friends that have found Pinterest to be a great source of Disney tips and tricks.

    1. Thank you! Charlie will be 6 in April, so over 6 1/2 by January and Sam is turning 3 at the end of next January, so we figured it would be a good time. Plus, you don't have to pay for kids under 3 from what I understand. Y'all will have a blast when you do get to take that precious Wyatt! I have found some great info from other bloggers and Pinterest, too! :) xoxo

  3. www.tipsfromthedisneydiva.com is an amazing blog with lots of great advice! I read it religiously before embarking on our journey to Disney. I found her blog to be the most practical and easiest to read. There are a ton of blogs out there though. It is so much fun and what a great gift! We didn't tell our 6 year old we were going until we were at the gate at the airport. So much fun!

    1. Thank you so much for sharing, Christina!! I'll definitely check it out! I have read a few other blogs with lots of great info., too. That is so fun that you waited until the last minute to tell them. I think we would do that with our own kids, too. We are able to drive to Disney since we live right off I-75 in Middle Georgia, so that is a plus. :) Thanks again and have a great night! xoxo

  7. The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World is a lifesaver! I booked the Polynesian resort while there was a special going (20% off and free meal plan) almost a year prior. The resort was amazing and I highly recommend the meal plan. The guide details every park, ride, restaurant and snack stand. I reserved the eateries well in advance and planned our days with typed plans. The guide tells you which parks to hit first/last, which rides to get fast passes for and what to rides/shows are he best. Planning was so much fun! What a generous gift :)
