Happy New Year!

This year we got to ring in the new year at our new home!
We usually celebrate Christmas with my mama and my sister and her husband on New Year's Eve/Day since it's so hectic around Christmas and we've cut out exchanging gifts.
We toyed around with going to the Orange Bowl to watch the Dawgs play. We toyed around with going to 30A.
Ultimately we decided to just stay home and unwind for a few days this year, which meant Brandon was still on call and wouldn't you know that darned emergency phone rang first thing every. single morning. on his days off, so he never got to sleep in.
If you follow me on Instagram then you've already seen some of these, but here is my New Year's tablescape.
It was quickly thrown together, so I was pretty pleased with it all things considered.
I used 3 yards of sequined fabric from Hobby Lobby, which I completely and totally support that company by the way, and I will cry uncontrollably should they be forced to close their doors.
Mama and Tiffany and I went to Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, Party City, and Publix to get what we needed to ring in the new year.
My gold flatware was a wedding gift from my Nana and I love to use it on special occasions.
We set up an hors d'oeuvres bar to get us through midnight!
The guys built a bonfire, but I have no pictures.
At 11:55 Brandon started frantically pouring the champagne. In his overalls.
Brad and Molly.
Me and Sanford.
This series of pictures kills me.
I don't know why Brandon was so amused with his party horn, but he sure was!
And no, he wasn't wasted. We don't even like champagne. It's just part of the fun of ringing in the new year.
Top hats and bowties!
Sisters and pugs!!
I have the best sister. She rocks my world.
And I have the best brother in law. He's pretty awesome.
Thankful to ring in our 9th new year together!!
Love my boys!
I stayed up until 4am washing dishes, but it was worth it to wake up to a clean kitchen later on that day.
I always leave this dish on display through the bowl games.
New Year's Day consisted of morning emergency calls, watching football  and cooking all day.
Thank God the Dawgs won!! We were nervous for a little while, but knew our Dawgs could pull out a win!
I love Brad. Brad loves Tutti Fruttis (store brand Fruit Loops). I buy Brad Tutti Fruttis in bulk when he comes over. Molly loves to watch her dad eat Tutti Fruttis.
Our dogs made us proud and killed an armadillo.
Those darn things will tear up your pine straw and flower beds like none other.
I cooked pretty much all day, and after the football suspense everyone was worn slap out.
I had the table set and ready to go when I woke everyone up for New Year's dinner.
My mother-in-law got me that awesome cupcake/candle stand for an early birthday present.
Isn't it amazing?! I love it!!
On New Year's Eve Brandon cooked the traditional Southern meal: ham, collards, black eyed peas and cornbread.
On New Year's Day we had homemade Gumbo with Shrimp, Andouille Sausage and Chicken and Grits-n-Greens casserole on the side.
Everyone enjoyed the food and the company.
We had a fun, relaxing, low-key New Year's celebration with family, lots of laughter, and delicious food.
We hope y'all had a wonderful NewYear's Eve and Day, too.

    1. Thank you so much, Nicole!! The fabric was regular priced at $5.99 a yard, but at Hobby Lobby you can use a coupon for 40% off any regular item every single week, so I used that and got a steal on it! :) It would be perfect for a wedding! Hope you had a very Happy New Year! xoxo

  6. Every thing looked so cute and I'm glad y'all had fun. The Ardamillo made me laugh. There everywhere here in Tx. They will tear your car up but trying to avoide them is harder. But it's illegal to kill them here. Can you believe the state protects those pesky things...

    1. Thank you, Aleshea! That is so crazy that it's illegal to kill armadillos in Texas!! I would've never guessed that would be so! They are out of control! :) I hope you had a very Happy New Year, too! xoxo
