27 on the 27th: My Birthday

Sunday I celebrated my 27th Birthday.
I seriously can't believe I'm already 27! Where has the time gone?
Every year goes by faster and faster, and I don't even have kids yet.
I'm not going to lie, I'm a little freaked out about getting older. Okay, a lot freaked out.
I'm forever 22 at heart.  But, getting older is inevitable, so I suppose I am going to have to learn how to embrace it and make the best of it!
Someone please tell me I'm not the only person who feels this way or just please console me about getting older!

Brandon picked out a delicious cake, my very favorite: raspberry filled vanilla with cream cheese icing.

And a dozen hot pink roses, that he put in a Mason jar instead of a vase. 

He knows my heart. Love.

 Mama brought me my all time favorite childhood dessert, and it's still a favorite of mine: petit fours.

I love everything about these tiny delicacies, and I love that she brings me some every single year for my birthday.

I love this little pink dessert stand. My Nana gave it to me as part of a wedding shower gift.

 I'm just certain y'all are tired of seeing my dining room table, but this is the first dining room we've ever had and I just love creating different tablescapes.

 I received the sweetest birthday cards this year. 

Mama also brought me the bouquet of flowers in the turquoise pitcher, and Brandon got me three more Chrysanthemums to plant.
He usually gets me something I can plant for special occasions so that I can watch them grow year after year.
And, throughout every single move we've made so far, I've dug each one of them up and replanted them wherever we are.
They are all still living, I'm proud to say!

 The cake was pure bliss. I enjoyed every crumb of it.

 My Mama got me a new coat and a turquoise crystal cake stand.
I love them!

I started celebrating on Thursday by going to the DMV to renew my license.
I know a lot of people are complaining about having to take so many things to prove their identity, but personally I am thankful. There are too many folks on the road who aren't legal.

 One perk to get older is getting to get a concealed weapons permit.

 Then I treated myself to a TJ Maxx trip and found a pair of white skinny jeans for $15 and got to use my $20 in rewards, so it was a win!

 Saturday night we went out to eat at Bonefish Grill to celebrate.

Sunday we drove to Athens to go gun shopping for my birthday present.

I have been wanting a new pistol for a while because the sig sauer I've been carrying is too big and bulky to put in my purse if needed.
Franklin Gun Shop in Athens is the best!

Because of all the gun craze, I had to order the gun I picked out, but hopefully I will get it soon!

After gun shopping I went to TJ Maxx while Brandon got our car washed.

Then we went to eat at a new restaurant in Athens called George's Lowcountry Table.

Seriously, George, where were you when we lived there?!

Since our favorite food is fine Cajun fare, this was right up our alley.

Everything was truly perfect.

The atmosphere, the lighting, every single bite of everything we ordered was to die for. 

I can't rave enough about this little gem. 

It reminded us of trips to New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana.

 I had crawfish etouffe with a side of pimiento cheese grits. Brandon had barbecue salmon.
They were both fantastic!

 For dessert I had bread pudding, and Brandon had the chocolate explosion.
We talked about the meal for another 45 minutes after we left.
It was that good.

I can't wait to go back, and I have a feeling it will be sooner than later since we really don't live that far from Athens.
All in all I would say that I had a wonderful birthday!!
It was special and spent with lots of love.
 God has truly blessed me, and I don't take a single second for granted!
