Beauty Products: What I Use

I've gotten several comments and emails over the past...few years, I guess, about what makeup and beauty products I use.
I have a 10 step makeup application and I don't spend more than 10 or 15 minutes putting on my makeup. Ever.
Most days, it's even a 5 min. application if I'm not applying all the eyeshadow and liner.
I also don't use expensive products and brands that often simply because I've found that:
a) my skin freaks out when I change products -it breaks out
b) most of the time the drug store brands/products that I use I like better than expensive brands.
I think the key to makeup is finding what works best with your skin type/color and sticking with it.
What works for me may not work for you and vice versa.
I have oily skin, so my makeup regimen is based on what keeps my skin the clearest!
So, this is what my makeup drawer looks like:
As you can see in the drawer, I keep all of my eye shadow in it's own basket to keep it organized.
I also keep a variety of shades of my foundation so I can change with the seasons as my skin color does.
I have a slight obsession with mint julep cups, and I keep my brushes, mascara, concealers, and tweezers in this one.
My most used lipsticks are in the beaded candle votive holder.
I know a lot of people who keep the majority of their makeup in a cosmetic bag so they can apply it on the go, and I have done that in the past, too.
But, I've found that by simply keeping my makeup organized and easily accessible, it me takes less time to apply it at home-and with quality lighting, I might add-than it does for me to blindly dig around in a bag and try to apply it going down the road or in another restroom somewhere.
By the way, it's dangerous to apply makeup while driving!!
I see people do this all the time and I wonder how in the world they make it to where they are going.
Plus, makeup tends to get dirty when it's kept in a bag, and I can't stand dirty makeup.
It all stays nice and clean if you keep it organized in drawers and containers.
These are my foundation staples:(the picture is the same except I forgot the concealers in the top picture, and then I forgot the blush in the bottom picture-go figure)
I use the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer for special occasions, but not every day.
Here are my daily steps in the order that I apply them:
1. My under-eye weapon is Too Faced Beauty Balm. When I use it I swear I can hear the angels sing!
I use it every day. I just dab it around my eye until it's completely blended.
2. My go-to foundation that I have used since I was a freshman in high school is Neutrogena Skin Clearing Liquid Foundation. I ALWAYS use a cosmetic wedge to apply it-never use your hands.
What I love most about Neutrogena products is that I don't even feel them on my face.
They are light and airy and they make my skin smooth.
3. If I have a breakout, I use Neutrogena Skin Clearing Concealer
I apply it to the blemishes and let it sit for a few second before blending it in. While I'm waiting I...
4.  apply Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector underneath my eyes and blend it in using my ring finger. It's my second under-eye weapon! Then I blend in my blemish concealer.
After my foundation and concealers are applied, I begin applying my eye makeup.
5. I apply my eyeshadow. I use the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, and/or a variety of other drug store eye makeup products. My go-to colors are golds, browns, coppers, and deep purples because I have brown eyes.
6. After my eyeshadow is applied, I go back and use Neutrogena Skin Clearing Mineral Powder to set my foundation. I use the Tan shade, which is #80, as my bronzer.
7. Then I apply blush, and for some reason I've always had issues with blush.
I love the way it looks, but I don't love the way it clogs my pores so I don't use it all the time.
The brand that is working best with my skin as of late is Maybelline Fit Me.
8. I know I do this backward from makeup artists, but it works for me. I apply my eyeliner after my eyeshadow. I use Bobbi Brown long wear eye gel liner, which is applied with a brush. I swear by this stuff! It's amazing! I use the black ink.
The reason I apply eyeliner after my powder is because I don't want the blackness of it to be dulled by the powder.
9. After my eyeliner is applied, I put on my mascara. I have tried just about every brand under the sun.
My eyelashes are a shade of blonde, so it is a requirement for me to wear mascara even if I wear nothing else to make me look like I'm actually alive. I use the blackest black shade of mascara.
One of my favorite brands is Loreal Telescopic. I also like Lancome Hypnose Drama, for special occasions.
 10. The last step for me is applying lip products.
My absolute favorite lipsticks are the Maybelline 24 hr. colors.
I hate having to reapply lipstick, so this stuff works great for me.
Plus, I love the colors.
Most of the time I will use the 24 hr. color to line my lips with, then I will use the 14 hr. cream to fill in with and it creates the prettiest colors.
That red shade is what I wear to UGA games, and it is Covergirl Outlast #521.
I love lipstick and mixing colors.
I rarely ever wear just one color at a time, so here is my stash of other lipsticks.
I also just remembered that I have another drawer full of glosses that I forgot to take a picture of.
Maybe I will and update later.
I love Vaseline!
I apply it to my lips and around my eyes every night!
I also really like Victoria's Secret makeup, too. Especially their lipsticks and eyeshadows.
These are some of my other favorite beauty products:
I wash my face every single morning and night no matter what with Olay Blackhead Clearing Scrub.
I use that little white face scrubber to wash it with.
Again, I've been using that face wash for over 6 years and if I change it up my face freaks out.
My favorite lotion is Bobbi Brown Beach.
I always dip my wet tooth brush in baking soda before applying the toothpaste on top.
I love cotton balls and cotton swabs, too.
I know you're not supposed to use cotton swabs in your ears, but I'm obsessed with cleaning my ears.
There's my secret for the week. Don't judge.
My favorite hair spray is Healthy Sexy Hair with Soy.
My tan comes form the sun and from Loreal Sublime Bronze.
No tanning beds for me.
When I want to add curl to my hair I use my Jose Eber wand. It's amazing. Expensive, but worth it!
I do not own a flat iron. All I have to do is blow dry my hair and it is stick straight. Blah!
 Let's talk shampoo and conditioner!
I use a different kind each day. I don't want my hair to get too used to one brand.
To keep my blonde locks from turning brassy I use Pantene Silver Expressions because it's purple, and if you have blonde hair you know that purple shampoo counteracts that gold, brassy tinge it can get.
I also love the Healthy Sexy Hair products-per my sister's recommendation.
She is a Sexy Hair Spokesperson and educator and owns her own salon, so I trust her.
I just bought the Garnier Fructis Fall Fight because my hair falls out since it's so long.
I've been using it for about a month off and on and I think it's helping some.
I also just love the smell of Biolage hair products.
I use the Volume Therapie, and if I've used styling products or my wand the day before, I condition it with the Conditioning Balm.
The texture of my hair is like cornsilk. It's fine and fragile, but super soft and shiny, so I try not to use heat or styling products unless I'm going "somewhere."
Most days I just let my hair air dry and that's about it.
The thing that drives me crazy about my hair is that it is so dang oily.
I should wash it every single day. But, I'm lazy about it and I don't because it's so fragile.
I hope that answers some of your questions! I tried to provide as many links as I could to products!
I would love to hear what y'all use or if you have any products that you can't live without or that you recommend!
It's getting cold down here! I hope y'all are staying warm everywhere else! xoxo

Yes, Sexy Hair products are pretty awesome! If I had shorter hair I would love to use the Root Pump Plus. It's amazing! Have a great weekend! xoxo
