Sautee Nacoochee Valley: Mountain Soul Shopping

Sautee Nacoochee is a small community located near Helen, Georgia in White County, which is the county east of Lumpkin County where I grew up.
The community sits in the beautiful Sautee Creek and Chattahoochee River valley at the foothills of the Appalachian mountains.
My mama was sweet enough to spend the afternoon with me last week and take me to Sautee Nacoochee.
We had a delicious late lunch of pimiento cheese sandwiches and Terra chips.

My mama opened her own shop in Sautee Nacoochee called Mountain Soul!
Her shop is so precious and she is so talented that words can't even describe how proud of her I am.
She can refinish any piece of furniture and turn any piece of junk into a treasure!
Isn't that bench precious?! And that door bench is adorable!
Any takers?!
She made the vintage chalkboards.
Isn't this china cabinet adorable? I love the finish she chose for it!
She has fantastic taste and an eye for design.
This cabinet was made from an old window-I love the bun feet on it!
I also love this buffet she refinished!! It's even more gorgeous in person!
In fact, she is working on one for me for my great room right now.
This is the view from her store-just beautiful!
If you are up in North Georgia near Cleveland, Helen or Clarksville, please stop by my mama's store in Sautee Nacoochee!!
Mountain Soul will not disappoint!!

  1. I know this is going to sound creepy, but it feels like you're blogging through my life! One of my husband's and my favorite memories together is going to a corn maze that we randomly found while driving around Sautee Nacoochee. That was way back when we were dating, though! I haven't been inside the old store, but I've definitely seen it. I'm pretty sure I can convince him to go for another drive soon to check it out.

  2. Mannnn, I was telling my husband as I was reading this that we need to take a trip to "our mtns" in NC. Nothing like a crisp fall day in the mtns with some yummy coffee!
