San Diego Part 4: Auxiliary

Today was our AVMA Auxiliary House of Delegates meeting and luncheon.
You may be wondering what the heck that is.
Well, the Auxiliary is a group a spouses of veterinarians.
Yes, we have our own organization!
At the annual AVMA convention, we too, have our own important meetings and business to attend to.
Our House of Delegates meeting is where we re-cap on everything that has taken place within our organization of the past year, debate, vote, discuss new business, induct the new officers and so forth.
Our group is made up of women and a few men, too, from all over the United States who are married to Veterinarians.
Here are a few shots from our House of Delegates meeting.
After our 2-4 hour meeting-the timing depends on how intense the arguments debates get.
But we always have a delightful luncheon to look forward to following our meeting.
I enjoyed my dessert immensely.
This year our meeting ran quite late and I'm certain I lost 5 pounds whilst sitting in there, so my dessert was welcomed!
Ginger Morton (our 2011-2012 President from Texas, on the left) presenting Georgia's very own Brenda Bullard with the President's Award!
Yay Georgia!!I just love Brenda to pieces and was thrilled to death she received this award-it was quite a surprise!
Brenda and me
All of our Georgia ladies representing in San Diego!
Rebekah, our newest member, and me.
She represents South Carolina!
Us with Miranda Montgomery.
Needless to say our brains were exhausted after our meeting and we were ready to go relax in the hotel room for a little while before our husbands got back from their continuing education in the convention center.
They spent all day long doing a course in Orthopedic Surgery...fun, fun!

My dress and shoes are both from TJ Maxx.
Dress: Max Studio brand
Shoes: Born brand
