Happy 29th Birthday to my wonderful husband!!
You know what they say, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach...and it's true for my man.
This cake was a true labor of love.
13 layers of made from scratch butter cake with chocolate ganache icing.
One of his favorite desserts is butter cake with chocolate icing, so I figured I'd take it up a few notches.
I literally spent and entire day in the kitchen preparing this cake.
Not to mention that I also made one of his favorite meals: breakfast for supper.
Homemade biscuits and gravy, bacon and eggs.
The recipe for this cake is a little intense, so I'll have to set aside some time to write another post for that.
It was totally worth it, though, to see the look on his face when he ate a piece.
I am so proud of my husband.
He is exhausted mentally and physically from all that has transpired over the past 5 months.
His first month as a business owner was completely and utterly tiring and stressful.
We knew it would be. But, there is only so much "bracing yourself" you can do.
It is getting better every day, though.
And, we are so incredibly thankful for this opportunity and recognize the blessings of it all.
So, Happy 29th Birthday, babe!!
You've accomplished so much during your 28 years-I mean, you're a veterinarian and you own your own practice!!
You're the bomb. And I love you deeply.
My exhausted self, yet willing to pose with my masterpiece of the day :).
That following Sunday we went up to Brandon's parents to celebrate the April birthdays.
His is the 19th, his Papa's is the 20th, and his Uncle's is the 29th.
We played cornhole, enjoyed fellowship and had a wonderful low country boil.
Happy Birthday to the Birthday men!
