Fall Realities

South Georgia weather in the fall is the bomb.
Except there is one issue...am I the only one who despises the time change?
I need sunshine. I need to see the farm when I get home. I need light.
Anyway, I know everyone is busy, especially this time of year.
We have been exceptionally busy, and while I am downright exhausted, I am so grateful.
Thinking back to this time last year, I was waiting...for a job, for new friends, for anything to get me going.
I was praying fervently for God to just "do something."
He finally did, so I can't complain about being too busy.
I want to remember this time and what we've been doing, so I'm going to make a few bullet points.
-I have been babysitting a lot the past few months, praise God!
-The kids have been taking gymnastics, dance, and football- I am their taxi-I love it!
-Women's Bible Study on Wednesday nights, plus I spend about an hour a day doing my study homework
-Couple's Bible Study on Thursday nights
-Zumba dance on Monday and Wednesday mornings/Tuesday and Thursday evenings-what a fabulous workout-I'm obsessed-plus I try to workout at home, too, most days!
-Brandon is still on call every Tuesday night
-Pecans are coming into harvest-we need to get to work.
-The cotton is absolutely breathtaking.
-I almost cry when it's harvested because I don't want it to be cut down.
-Fall colors are at peak here.
-It is still almost 80 degrees and sunny most days.
-The skies are such a bright shade of blue.
-Brandon has been cutting a lot of firewood.
-He has also built a few "test fires"... everything works ;)
-My email is out of control.
-So is my Google reader...411 and counting-I will comment-promise, even though I have a terrible urge to "mark all as read" :/ ...I feel horrible about it
-My car needs a serious bath and an oil change.
-Even though I spent almost all day cleaning on Saturday, the house needs it again=story of my life.
-My black nail polish from Halloween is heinous and chipped=so embarrassing.
-The road construction in this town is tearing my nerves up! It's been going on for 2 years now.
-I love cotton. As you all already know. Just had to reiterate.
-We are going to Athens this weekend for the UGA vs. Auburn game
-I haven't even had a chance to get excited about it, or pick out my gameday outfit...trivial I know
-I'm utterly exhausted. I can hardly hold my eyes open to type this. I think I mentioned that, too.
-Our dogs destroyed my baby gourds and baby pumpkins. They are no more. The gourds and pumpkins, I mean.
-Don't you love mums in the fall? I do.
-Our dryer was broken for a month. Thank God it got fixed.
-Our living room ceiling had a leak in it for 3 months. Thank God it finally got fixed, too, after many failed attempts.
-I have a migraine. I've got to go to bed. 6am will come all too soon.
In other news, I broke down and purchased an Erin Condren planner to see what the fuss is all about.
The packaging was really cute and unique, and frankly with a $13 shipping price it ought to be.
I love the planner-it's adorable, but I really do believe the $50-60 price range is outrageous for a planner.
I have been the queen of planners for years. I love planners. I have several for each year.
Honestly, this one doesn't have that much more to offer to be worth such a tremendous price difference.
I did use a coupon and the first timer discount, but still...
I will love it because I love planners, I just don't love the hefty price tag attached to it.
Well, that's just a snippet of what we've been up to lately.
I hope you all are doing well. I miss y'all so much and I can't wait to hopefully get caught up on your lives soon! xoxo
By the time this posts it will be my brother-in-laws birthday, so Happy Birthday to Russell!!

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."

  1. I was quite intrigued by the Erin Condren planners last week when they were, what, $12.50? That's already nearing my limit for what I'll spend on a planner. I've found a glorious one I've been using for a number of years and can find it for as little as $9 on Amazon. I hope your new planner is wonderful. Great pictures!

  2. I love how your little house is nestled. It seems so cozy, I love that!I as well love cotton so those cute little wreaths on your doors are to die for. & I love my erin condren planner however I do not think its any different then my other one I had so next year it will be back to my old one :)Happy birthday to Russell!!! Hope you have a great rest of the week girlie!

  3. Those cotton wreaths are absolutely gorgeous!!!

  4. Sounds like you've been busy :) Love your cotton wreaths...so pretty!

  5. Love the cotton wreaths! You are so talented:) I hope you have a great weekend!

  6. Hey! Kinda random...and maybe a little creepy, but I saw y'all at the game yesterday! We were selling programs for the FCA, though so I couldn't run over and say hi :)... I told my husband "I follow her blog!!" and he said "that's creepy that you spotted her..." haha

  7. New Follower :

Jealous of your weather and change of season. In Florida we're lucky to get some cool air this time of year.

I'm with you on the planner, but it's so cute! I need a planner to keep me organized or my "To-Dos" are spread out on various sticky notes throughout the house.

I sure do love hearing from y'all-you make my day!
