Braves vs. Dodgers

Sunday we got tickets to watch the Braves play the Dodgers at Turner Field.
Brandon and I love the Braves and watch them almost every night.
It had been years since either of us had been to a game because our lives have just been so busy, but we had such a great time and can't wait to go back again!
We brought Brandon's old glove just in case we might catch a foul ball.
Brandon and his brother both used to be pitchers :).

Brandon's parents outside of Turner Field
The weather was overcast with temps in the 80s and a light rain that started to fall about halfway through the game. We were very thankful for that kind of weather as opposed to the heat we are accustomed to.
Matt Diaz, who is the brother of Christian singer, Johnny Diaz, up at bat
Dan Uggla...a great home run hitter
Our closing pitcher, rookie Craig Kimbrel is seriously one of the most amazing pitchers to watch. Look up his record. It's unbelievable!
So, the Dodgers scored 3 in the 3rd inning and the Braves scored 3 in the 7th for a tied game. Thanks to Kimbrel, the Braves held the Dodgers at the top of the 9th.
I had been waiting and praying for this moment the entire game...for Chipper Jones to make an appearance.
I've met him and I love him.
Seriously, he is my favorite Brave and has been for as long as I can remember.
In fact, I can't even remember watching the Braves and him not being a part of the team.
When "Crazy Train" starts playing, Chipper is up to bat.
Did I mention I love Chipper?
I really do. The Braves just aren't the Braves without him.
Of course, Chipper was prepared to play ball and guess what the Dodgers did...they got skeered!!!
They walked him. I wanted him to hit a home run, but oh well.
He got on base which meant that I got to watch him a little while longer.
Yep, I was still photographing him.
Did y'all know I even have a Chipper bobblehead?
Then, Martin Prado hits a walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th, giving the Braves a 4-3 win over the Dodgers!!!
The important thing about this game was that if the Braves lost it would have been the first time they have been swept all season, but thank God that didn't happen!!
 Everyone was going crazy!!
Who cares about standing in the rain when the Braves win?!
We won and I got to see Chipper, so I was a very happy girl!!
We still saw a beautiful skyline of Atlanta even though it was raining.
 Until next time, Braves....
After we finally got out of traffic we went to Brandon's Mimi and Papa's for supper with the family.
We had ribs, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, fruit, peach cobbler and ice cream.
It was delicious!! We so enjoyed getting to spend time with everyone :)

  1. I love your gameday attire! Nice pictures of the field!!!

  2. This looks like so much fun! I went to my first MLB game last month, but it was boring...maybe that had to do with the Sox not scoring? ha! I love what you wore to the game too, very nice! Oh and a friend of mine named their dog "Chipper" after Chipper Jones, I think you should name your next pup after him too! :) Have a great Wednesday!
