Makes Me Smile...

These are just a random mix of images from lately that make me smile when I look at them:
Our precious Godsons, Sam and Charlie
Charlie had his first day of Pre-K this week-makes me sad to see how fast he is growing.
This is the most precious face ever. He is delicious-I could eat him with a spoon! (I borrowed these from their sweet Mama)
I hadn't had a pedicure in 6 months...don't judge. My sweet husband gave me a gift certificate for my birthday back in January that was good for 6 months. Did I wait until the very last day? Of course. I have no good reason. He got me the certificate so that I would be forced to do something to treat myself. I don't know why, but I feel so guilty about spending the money to do things like that. I guess it's because I don't have a job here. I do give myself pedicures at home regularly, though. It's a whole lot more economical. Getting a pedicure is one of my favorite things to do, so I really enjoyed this one!
And they were nice enough to let Brandon sit in a vacant massage chair while he waited on me. He was so thankful because the day before he stood for over 14 hours straight, and many of those hours were spent performing a major fracture repair. His back was shot after all that, being over 6'3" and all.
Brandon took this picture of Bayla on his way home from work one day. She was asleep sitting straight up against the seat. So cute. *All of the previous images were taken on Brandon's smart phone. I do not have a smart phone. My phone was $15 at Wal-Mart and doesn't even have a camera on it.  Yet another thing I would feel bad about indulging in. He has to have a smart phone for work, though.*
Going to play mini-golf with Anna on her last night staying with us. We were the only people out there and we played until midnight. Excuse the poor picture quality-wrong camera setting.
Homemade salsa-made from homegrown tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro, and vidalia onions...made by yours truly and the mister.
When I tell Brandon I really just want some fruit for supper he presents me with a plate that looks like this:
He is wonderful to me!

  1. Glad you had some pampering done!!! And the fruit looks delicious!! Bayla is adorable - Gracie sleeps sitting up too! lol

  2. Sam and Charlie are too cute! I feel like I only get pedicures when we go visit home home since I feel like I have to do girly things with friends. Otherwise I just do them at home! Bayla is so cute. Love the fruit for dinner! And I prefer to make my own salsa. It's so much better than anything I could ever buy at the market!

  3. That salsa looks great- you should share the recipe on the blog!

  4. I can see why these pictures make you happy. :)

  5. I need to get a pedicure soon. Hopefully I will get that for my birthday.

    Bayla is the cutest puppy!

  6. Looks like you've been having fun! Pedicures are one of my favorite indulgences too!

  7. lots of wonderful reasons to smile!! your outfit playing mini golf was super cute!! and the fruit and salsa look delicious :)

  8. homemade salsa is the BEST!! and so are pedicures ;)

  9. We have been making a ton of salsa this summer too with all of the produce from our garden. There is just nothing like picking it yourself & then eating it! :)
I'm so with you on the pedicure...one of my favorite things to do but it was almost a year ago since I've had one. There are just more important things to spend money on, oh & with two kiddos it's pretty hard to find the time! :)
    Hope yall are doing good!

I sure do love hearing from y'all-you make my day!
