Savannah Sunday

**I just wanted to let y'all know that I changed my url to www.southernsoulmatesblog.com - I don't want to lose any of you!**
On Sunday the emergency phone rang bright and early at 7AM, so while Brandon went to the clinic I went ahead and got up and got ready for the day. After he got home and ready we headed to Savannah  to redeem our Lady & Sons restaurant tickets, do some sightseeing and our grocery shopping for the week. We live about 45 minutes out of Savannah, and unfortunately we have to drive that far to get to a Publix or Kroger. Or, fortunately because we get to do our grocery shopping in one of the most beautiful cities. It's a double-edged sword, I can assure you. Sorry, I got off track a bit. We had a leisurely morning stroll around downtown while we waited for our lunch reservation.
At noon we enjoyed a calorie filled Southern spread, which was delicious as always. I am always in pain when I leave there and I swear to myself that the next time will be different, yet it's always the same, which is why we only go quarterly on average.
Fried chicken and the Southern buffet...
Hoecakes and Cheese Biscuits with Minted Sweet Tea...
It's finger-lickin' good...just ask Brandon.
I'm either considering the pain I'm in and how many calories I've devoured or savoring the taste. Probably a combination.
Then I am enlightened by the fact that it's 96 degrees with 100% humidity outside and we have quite a bit of walking to do afterward, so I'm justified and I eat on like a good Southern girl.
Since it is Sunday and we are in the South, and church is a huge part of life, there's bound to be some outdoor churchin' in Savannah. The church bells are ringing throughout the city and choirs can be heard in the distance. We sat and listened to this group play and sing hymns for more than an hour. Their voices were like those belonging to angels and if I hadn't already been saved I am certain that that would have been the time and place for me. They sang the Gospel all afternoon!
Then we did a little shopping on Broughton and went to Publix before heading home. Hope y'all had blessed weekend, too!
