Vidalia Onion Festival & River

On Saturday my Mama came down to visit and we went to the Vidalia Onion Festival that afternoon. I have expressed my deep disgust with onions on here in the past, so I won't get into that again. I appreciate the fact that the Southeastern part of our state is known for being the only place those types of onions can grow, but I just don't like to eat them, or smell people who have eaten them. For example, everyone but me was dying to eat a blooming Vidalia onion at the festival, so I had to sit there and watch them eat. Then I had to smell their breath all afternoon. As if that wasn't enough, my Mama decided to buy a bag of them and they rode home with us. But, enough about that...on to something I enjoy...They had some of the most beautiful flowers you've ever seen there and the prices were unreal. I wanted to buy everything. The festival was really fun and there are so many great events over the weekend including a rodeo, car show, airshow, concert, shopping, and more. This is the humongous fern we bought for only $20 at the festival. It's outrageous! Everyone that saw it said it was the biggest one they'd ever seen. That is a table that seats 4 that it's sitting on, just to try and put it into perspective. We got to keep our niece, Molly over the weekend for my sister while they were on vacation in Florida. My Mama took Molly back home with her when she left on Sunday afternoon since she lives close to my sister. We miss Molly and we know Sanford does, too! Sunday afternoon we took the boat out on the Canoochee River and drifted around until Brandon got an emergency call and had to go into the clinic. The weather was gorgeous as were the views. Brandon using his fly rod.I love this train trestle over the river. I hope y'all had nice relaxing weekends, too! xoxo "As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as the trees of lign aloes which the Lord hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters." Numbers 24:6
