Part 2: Baby Sam's Baptism

We got up Sunday morning and went to church for the Baptism of baby Samuel Fuller Carey. This post is going to be picture overload just to warn you! We wanted to get Sam a keepsake gift, so I found this precious little hand embroidered bib with three crosses on it and I thought it would be the perfect thing for him to have and hopefully pass down someday. Here is the little Prince patiently awaiting his Baptism. The Christening gown he is wearing is a family heirloom that Meg's Mama and her brother wore, then Meg and her brother wore it, then Meg's neice, Katie, and Charlie wore it, too. I love this special tradition they have and the gown is absolutely beautiful.Sam with the pastor of their church in Waverly Hall, GA.Sam was perfect during the Baptism and he even smiled really big at the end of it!The Carey family! Such wonderful parents and friends! They have so much to be proud of and we are so proud of them! I wanted to get a nice picture of us with the boys and I am so happy about how these turned out! We are so honored to be Charlie and Sam's Godparent's and we strive to set a Christian example for them and we are committed to praying for each one of them daily. Of course the guest of honor gets to eat first! The food was divine. Meg's mama is a fabulous cook and one of the most wonderful hostesses I know!Time for a wardrobe change into his little Feltman Bros. bubble. Sam has the most pleasant little disposition! He is such a happy baby and not to mention one of the most beautiful babies I've ever seen. I know I'm biased, but he really is!Can you tell that I absolutely delight in holding this precious angel?!Uncle Brandon gets a turn with Sam.With his Busy Bee (what Meg's mom goes by)The sheet cake in Sam's honor. His foot smashing cake. The foot smashing cake-for those of you who aren't familiar with this, the purpose of the foot smashing cake is to symbolize their first steps as their walk in a Christian faith. I think it's just a wonderful idea.Getting those sweet feet cleaned off.The proud parents. I could not be more proud of our best friends. What an honor it was to share such a special occasion with them! Meg's mama made the sweetest little favors for everyone to take home: gladiola and freesia bulbs for planting to symbolize the faith Meg and Phil are planting in the hearts of their children. Watching Transformers after everyone left-some people never grow up in some ways and I love that about my husband. My best friend and me. I hate being 200 miles away from them. We are so grateful we were able to make it it to such a special occasion for our friends and family. What a joy to see people commit to raising their children to walk in truth. "It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us." 2 John 1:4
