I'm sorry for the lack of posting lately. I'm sure you understand. I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughtful and encouraging comments and emails and phone calls. I don't know what I would do without y'all in my life. You help me to keep going and to keep the faith. Last weekend was very emotional and difficult as you can imagine. We spent the entire weekend cleaning out and up in Athens and let's just say that having your belongings scattered between 3 or 4 different places is very frustrating, especially when other people packed your things and there are no labels or any semblance of organization. I shudder to think of where everything will be as well as the condition of all my belongings when this is all said and done, if it ever is. I had my last Junior League meeting of the year on Monday night and when I got back to the house we went next door and talked with our neighbors for a while so it was pretty late by then. We got up at 4:30 Tuesday morning and made the 3+ hour drive back to South Georgia and I dropped Brandon off at work on the way in. Speaking of moving, our close friend, Dr. Rachael, who is the other vet down here, is moving to Charlotte, NC next week, so I wanted to throw her a going away party. Rachael and Brandon were in the same vet school class at UGA, so we've known Rachael for a long time. I must say that I don't know what I'm going to do since she's leaving as she has become one of my closest and dearest friends. We've been through a lot together over the past year as she is the only other person who knows exactly what we've been going through living down here. She comes over almost every night to eat, watch tv, and just hang out. I am going to miss her so much. We decided we'd surprise her with the party Thursday night and we invited all of the clinic staff to come and eat. I think she was pleasantly surprised and I hope she enjoyed her night. She basically gets a new lease on life! I am going to miss her incredibly and selfishly I wish she was still going to be down here with us, but I truly am thrilled for her. We know God has amazing things planned for her and we wish her all of the best! We love you, Rachael!
