Farm Life Friday: In Bloom

Since it looks like we are going to be sticking around here for a while I've had all I can stand of not planting flowers and sprucing up. I've tried to plant almost everything in pots and containers for future moves, but I may end up needing an entire trailer just for plants if that happens.I have been wanting to spruce up the gate area at our driveway, so when I was at Hobby Lobby last week I just grabbed some different floral stems and ribbon and I came up with these arrangements. I really love them and the colors just pop. I still need to clean up the leaves and shrubs around the gate, but I'm happy with the arrangements on the posts.I brought my plant hangers from our front porch in Athens and put them up so I could hang my ferns, which I am so happy with. Our braided hibiscus are blooming hot pink like the geraniums and it really brings everything together.I adore the color of our geraniums: Flamingo RoseI love these bouganvillas and I love fuchsias, too, which I haven't gotten any of yet this year. I can't seem to find any pretty ones down here. Who says pink flamingos in the yard can't be classy?Notice my new Pug statue hiding behind the pink gerbera daisies? My hibiscus that my mama gave me for Easter.I planted a new type of rose in this planter. It's called a Fashion Hit Rose and it has beautiful blooms. I planted spearmint, lemon verbena, French lavender, and basil.I just love the tropical look of Mimosa trees. That shade of pink just gets me.And just because I love magnolias in May, I'll leave you with a picture of one of our blooms.
"Let us get up early to the vineyards; Let us see if the vine has budded, Whether the grape blossoms are open, And the pomegranates are in bloom. There I will give you my love." Song of Solomon 7:12

  1. Beautiful flowers!

I understand where you are coming from as I plant most of our flowers in containers as well because we have moved around a lot. This spring though I decided to create actual flower beds because I missed seeing flowers everywhere.
