Brandon's Birthday Celebrations

I believe in making birthdays extra special around here, so I broke some of our "every day rules" and splurged. We have a wonderful local bakery here in town, so I went by and picked out some doughnuts and John Deere Tractor sugar cookies for the birthday man. I always offer to cook whatever he requests and this year his requests were pretty simple. He asked for Beef Stroganoff made with flat iron steaks, but he said he didn't want a cake this year. {Ranch dressing=rule breaking. We love it but we pretend it doesn't exist ;)}So, I had to think of something else that would hold 28 candles. He loves Key Lime Pie, so I decided to make that for him. We got to go "home-home" on Sunday and celebrate Brandon's birthday with some family. It was great to be back even for just one day. We haven't been there since Thanksgiving, unfortunately. Homemade Lemon Meringue PieHomemade Ice CreamHis parents gave him an awesome Civil War maps book and a print of Robert E. Lee and his generals.I hope you had a wonderful Birthday, Brandon!

  7. I love that John Deere cookie, that is too precious! You did such a great job setting for his birthday! We pretend 'ranch' doesnt exist in our house either, so I COMPLETELY understand, lol.

Going 'home home' is always the best. It's very rare for me as I'm always working but when I do I cherish those moments for sure!

Love all the civil war things he got too!
