Savannah & Rattlesnake Roundup

Saturday we spent the afternoon walking around Savannah and enjoying the gorgeous spring weather. Our first stop was Vinny Van GoGo's Pizza, which is in City Market. They let you bring your dog if you eat outside, which is a huge plus for us! We had a pizza with pesto sauce, sun dried tomatoes, Italian sausage, and mushrooms. It was yummy!I love that Confederate Memorial! We love spending time in Forsyth Park.On our walk back from Forsyth Park we decided to go to our favorite ice cream parlor, Leopold's. Please excuse my husband, he was raised in a barn. He got chocolate and butter pecan and I had chocolate-raspberry and strawberry-yum!As we were walking back to the car we spotted the Girl Scout cookies table and bought 3 boxes: Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tag-Alongs. After all, the Girl Scouts were founded and are headquartered right here in Savannah! This weekend, Claxton, the county seat of Evans county, held their annual Rattlesnake Roundup festival, and we had to make an appearance since Brandon is one of the veterinarians and all. I normally love festivals, but this was quite an experience. We didn't stay more than 30 min. and that was too long in my opinion. Don't think we'll be coming back to this event again. The pictures speak for themselves. I was way overdressed for the occasion, but it being Sunday and all I decided to keep my dress on. SO TOTALLY GROSS!!!! Don't you wish you could've been there?! I am terrified of snakes. Seriously. I can't stand the thought of them and this was a huge deal for me to attend a function such as this. Anyways, that was our weekend. I hope y'all had a great weekend, too! I'm actually headed up to Athens today for our March Junior League meeting tonight, so that means I won't get to watch the Bachelor until Tuesday night when I get back down to Daisy to watch my recorded version. That also means I won't be reading any blogs/tv watching/etc. until after I watch the show. Please don't spoil it for me, but I've been Team Emily from the get go and I think he picks her. :) xoxo

  2. We love Vinnie's and make it a point to stop there when we visit my sister at Armstrong. When I was little, we had just moved from New Jersey and wanted to check out the Rattlesnake Roundup. Needless to say, we have never been back either and I am scarred for life!

  11. Savannah is one of my favorite places! And you went to two of my faves...Vinnie's and Leopold's! Yum!

I almost went with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law to the roundup but had to change my plans! I don't think I would want to get near any snakes!

  13. I am so proud of you for going to the rattlesnake roundup! I could not have done it. Snakes freak me out and I cannot handle it. I close my eyes and scream when I see them in movies; even in Harry Potter! I love your wardrobe, seriously-come shop for me?!
