The Decision

As promised, I told you all that I would let you know when we made a decision on the job and moving situation. It's been a busy 3 weeks filled with numerous job/practice purchase opportunities and all of the emotions that come along with that. I posted my initial reactions 2 weeks ago and was overwhelmed by the comments, emails, and phone calls that I received. Your prayers have been a key element in our decision and we can truly feel where the Lord is leading us at this point in time and we can't thank each of you enough. This past year has been such a growing and learning opportunity for both of us as we have gained more insight as to what we really want out of life as opposed to what we thought we wanted. At this time, we both agree that we would like for Brandon to have one more year of experience in a setting where he can get quality veterinary medicine and Christian mentorship before we look at purchasing a practice(s). And starting June 16th, he will be getting that mentorship in Winterville, Georgia-just 6 miles from our house in Athens. We have spent many hours in prayer and seeking advice, and we feel this is the best decision for us at this time. In the future, we may very well purchase into that particular practice as well as consider purchasing a practice in Southern/Coastal Georgia as we have fallen in love with that area. One of the determining factors for us was that we wanted to go somewhere that we would not be committed to staying forever, should we feel the Lord is calling us to go elsewhere. For right now, this is the best option for us and we are willing to go where the Lord is calling us. So, it seems we will be moving back into our house in the Classic City at the end of May. In the meantime, we are going to soak up every second and experience we have left in Daisy, Georgia. We are excited about our future and knowing that it is secure in Christ. "By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. " Hebrews 11:8-10

  8. What a great verse to go with your story. I love the words "By faith". As Christians, we're called to a life of faith. It's scary sometimes, but it's comforting knowing that God has our plans all under control (: I'm so happy you two have made a decision! That always feels good...just to know what the plan is. I'll still be praying for you!
