Battle at Manassas

After church on Sunday afternoon we went to the 12th Annual reenactment of the Battles at Manassas, which is just 15 minutes down the road from where we live. The Sons of Confederate Veterans, which Brandon is a member of, put on the reenactment and did a wonderful job in doing so. We feel very strongly about our Southern heritage and are proud to support such an event as this. If you've never been to a reenactment I encourage you to go. They are a lot of fun and very informative!"In Dixieland I'll take my stand, to live and die in Dixie..."

  1. How cool! I've never been to a re-enactment, and to be honest, I haven't had much desire to. Your post sparks my interest, though! It looks very educational. I never thought they would have that kind of camp set up, and the period dresses on display and such. Now I want to find one to go to!

BTW- I am completely in love with your outfit! Do you mind to give me the details? Is that embellishment part of the dress, or is it a necklace? It's gorgeous!

  7. Thank you all so much for your sweet comments! I actually found the dress at Ross Dress For Less back in January for $14.99! It is embellished, so no necklace! I got the embellished cardigan at Old Navy and the sandals and hat are from Target :) xoxo

  15. That looks like so much fun!!! I've never been to a re-enactment but one of the schools I did observations in had a woman who participated in the re-enactments as a nurse come speak to the students. It was great and so interesting!! I just love living in the South and love all of the history we have--Gone With the Wind is my most favorite movie ever!!
