After we ate our New Year's Day lunch we played the White Elephant Gift Exchange game. We set the limit to $10 per person and everyone brought a gift for his or her own gender. We divided up the ladies and the gents and each group drew numbers and we played two rounds of the game. There were so many laughs and we liked doing this much better than the traditional gift exchange. We just felt like there is too much emphasis put on gifts, so we wanted more focus to be on the real reason for season and on spending time together more than the gifts themselves. I highly recommend this gift exchange game! We had only one rule-NO HARD FEELINGS!

We begged Mama to ease off on giving us so many gifts this year, and thankfully she did.
