Sunday Snow and Christmas Gumbo

Sunday we woke up to heavy snow falling outside, though it was not cold enough to stick. But, it sure made for a magical Christmas mood! It's hard to see the snow coming down in the pictures, but I promise it's there! For breakfast we had a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast casserole with the leftover baked fruit and granola from Christmas day.My MIL and I spent the rest of the afternoon lounging around watching movies while the guys went up to Guido Gardens. For supper we invited our friends, the Lewis family, and Rachael and her friend, JD, over for Gumbo and fellowship. We had a wonderful time and are so grateful to have such dear friends in Daisy. Brandon cutting the Spice Cake with Eggnog icing This photo cracks me up! Mack was quite content sitting on Russell's shoulders while he dried the dishes. Speaking of dishes, I want to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to my wonderful MIL and BIL for always helping with the washing and drying. We went through a ton of dishes over the weekend and I could have never done it all without their help. I'm sure going to miss having someone to talk to in the kitchen. "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2:7

  5. Waking up to a Christmas flurry was breathtaking. I enjoyed every minute of looking out the window and seeing it falling from the sky! I tried to capture it with my "new" camera & couldn't get the pictures to turn out either :(
