Savannah, GA at Christmas

On Monday we had planned on going to Cumberland Island, but because it was so cold and windy we opted to go and walk around downtown Savannah instead. We were going to walk around Savannah on Sunday, but it was snowing and Brandon was on call plus we had company coming for supper, so our plans got changed around. Everything worked out for the best, though, and we had a wonderful time in Savannah. It's so nice being only 45 min. away from this beautiful Southern city.We started out on River Street and took pictures by the Savannah RiverThe Savannah Candy Kitchen on River Street is always a great place to stop! After we left River Street we parked the car in a parking garage and decided to do a self guided walking tour and started out near Broughton Street.me sipping on some of the best hot chocolate e.v.e.r at one of my favorite places, the Paris Market & BrocanteThe Cathedral of St. John the Baptist was absolutely breathtaking as alwaysmassive manger/nativity sceneDiscussing some Catholic historyWe sampled honey from the Savannah Bee Company, and ended up getting 3 different kinds including Tupelo, Orange Blossom, and Black ForestWe had supper at the Lady and Sons, which was crowded but very good as always!
Fried Green Tomato Appetizer and I ordered crab stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp-yumWhen we got back to our house we all played games like we usually do when we get together over the holidays. We played Taboo and another game that Brandon's parent's brought and I can't remember the name of it. We had so much fun playing and laughing together. I love those sweet moments that seem to be fewer and far between than ever at this point in time with everyone living so far apart."Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them." Luke 2:15-20
