Southern Evenings Series

Just another typical Southern Evening on the farm! When Brandon cam home for lunch today I had him take Annie, one of the farm dogs, back to the clinic to get her all clipped and cleaned up. She turned out pretty good, I think! Isn't she pretty? She feels a thousand times better! Sweetie and Sanford must have thought she looked and smelled good, too, by the way they were chasing her around. For supper we had grilled chicken, grilled okra and sweet potatoes, and individual squash casseroles. I don't recommend grilled okra. This afternoon I am going to be putting up more tomatoes, okra, peaches, plums, and kiwis. Lord help me get all of this accomplished before we go out of town tomorrow for the UGA game. Did I mention our AC has been broken for almost a week now?! It's been in the upper 90s here in South GA!! We watched a beautiful fiery red sunset this evening, which is always such a blessing. And did y'all see the moon last night? It was gorgeous! And of course, the evening just wouldn't be complete without an emergency call :). This poor girl had a clump of "stickers" from bushes stuck up under her tongue, which was causing an infection in the wound. But, Dr. Brandon got her all cleaned up and medicated! I guess some days are just too much with all the late nights and on call shifts. Luckily Brandon only works until noon on Thursdays. Well, the AC man just pulled up so his nap is about to get interrupted! "You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours." Psalm 128:2
