Eat, Pray, Love (the movie review)

I finally got to see the movie with my friend, Breanna, on Sunday night. I finished reading the book a few weeks ago, so I wanted to see the movie. I will say that the movie was better than I anticipated; however, I don't see how anyone could watch it and truly understand it without having read the book. That said- if you saw the movie, you need to go back and read the book. If you haven't seen it and are wanting to, please read the book first! The movie is not nearly as deep as the book is. It's hard to believe the main character is the same one-Julia Roberts is a fabulous actress, but she is one of the last actresses I would have chosen for the role. There are so many important details that the movie left out. Plus, you know how things get altered as soon as Hollywood gets a hold of something. I still am not a huge fan of this whole thing, but I'm glad I read and saw it and now I can check it off my list and go on to the next thing in life. "But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul." Deuteronomy 4:29

  1. I was a tad underwhelmed by the movie, too!

  2. I've read the book. So far my favourite- I've concluded that I'm going to go to Italy next year and just EAT.
So many people have said the film is utter rubbish, so I am a little wary about watching it, just in case it ruins my taste for the book.

I am going to purchase "Commitment" written by her next.

  3. Same exact sentiments. LOVED the book, liked the movie - but can't imagine seeing it without reading the book. It seemed to jump around so much and you kind of missed the point of the story just by seeing the movie.

So glad I am not the only one.

I sure do love hearing from y'all-you make my day!
