Anniversary Weekend in Athens

After debating on what to do for our anniversary and where to go, I announced to Brandon that while I appreciated his desire to take me to a romantic beach getaway weekend, I would be very happy with just going to Athens and eating at our favorite restaurants and relaxing by the pool and saving a lot of money instead. I would rather go home and sleep in my own bed! (Our house in Daisy is furnished, so we left our beds and most of our furniture in Athens). We decided we wouldn't tell anyone we know that we were going to Athens so that it would be more like a getaway, because if anyone knew we wouldn't be able to be together just the two of us and celebrate our anniversary. No offense to anyone!! We just needed a weekend together. We had so much fun and it was so nice to be back in Athens and to relax by the pool. We ate lunch at Weaver D's on Saturday. Brandon had fried catfish and I had fried chicken with mac & cheese and fried green tomatoes. We spent the afternoon at the pool, then went downtown and ate at our favorite sushi restaurant, Shokitini, which was just as wonderful as we had remembered. Sunday we relaxed by the pool so more and then went to eat supper at our favorite mexican restaurant, La Parilla. We left feeling recharged and ready to take on the world. Haha! "You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. " Isaiah 26:3
