Lubbock to Dallas

We left Lubbock around 9:30 this morning for Dallas, TX. We had such a wonderful time with Matthew and Merry and we can't wait to see them again. There was literally nothing between Lubbock and Ft. Worth. Once we dropped off the high plains about 100 miles southeast of Lubbock the landscape changed drastically. Gone were the endless views of flat, fertile, green farms. We were back to tumbleweeds, mesquite, and plateaus covered with massive wind farms.Welcome to Ft. Worth where a cowboy can be a cowboy :) We stayed in Highland Park just outside of Dallas with Drs. John and Wendy Vandermeer and their 3 lovely children. It was so wonderful to visit with them in a setting other than the mission field. They have a beautiful home and community and were such wonderful hosts to Brandon and me. They even had fresh flowers on the bedside table of our guest quarters. A huge thank you to the Vandermeer's for everything. We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to seeing y'all again soon!
