Louisiana Plantations

...are heaven on earth!
We got up this morning at drive out to Vacherie to get on River Road.
I have made this trip before, but Brandon has not, so I was on the edge of my seat excited about seeing his reaction to everything down here in Cajun land.
 Meet Oak Alley.
I wholeheartedly believe this is what heaven will look like when I get there.

Static, rain, falling in the mud on th side of the levee in a white J. Crew dress...and still smiling.
It must be Oak Alley.
On the banks of the mighty Mississippi River.

Eating the best crawfish etouffe topped with fried catfish. Yes, please!
 Houmas House

 The "White Castle"

We found this little drive-thru trailer restaurant thing and got a bag of freshly boiled crawfish.
Aren't they beautiful?
We saw the capitol building in Baton Rouge on our way back to NOLA.
Once we were back in NOLA, we had our crawfish in Audubon Park.
They were spicy and fresh and delicious.
We are covering a lot of ground these days....the sun finally sets.
