Jacksonville = Victory

Go Dawgs!!! We spent fall break in Jacksonville, FL for GA-FLA, and what a blast we had. The weather was bit chilly and windy and overcast, but we celebrated nonetheless. On our drive down we stopped in Darien, GA and ate at Skipper's Fish Camp-YUM! We also stopped and bought 30 lbs. of fresh GA shrimp from the locals to grill at the tailgate and bring back home. Once we got in in Jacksonville we stayed at the TPC Sawgrass Resort at Ponte Vedra Beach-very nice. On Saturday morning my alarm went off at 5:45 AM...not happy about that, but we had to leave the hotel by 7AM to ensure that we would get the usual tailgate spot located up under an underpass. So, we tailgated from 8AM to 2:30PM. Kickoff was at 3:30. Long day already!! Our seats were at the top but on the 50 yard line and the view was breathtaking! Jacksonville is a really cool city. After the Dawgs won the game we made our way back to the tailgating are and waited for traffic to die down before pulling out. After we finally got out of downtown we made our way back to Ponte Vedra where we found a restaurant called Bogies right near our hotel. It had at least 20 televisions with a variety of games on. We picked a booth under the humongous projection screen of the Tennessee-S.Carolina game. I got to watch the last nerve wracking half of that game and when the Vols won I cried and jumped out of the booth and cheered. Clemson beat Maryland, too. Needless to say, Brandon, Andrew and I had a great weekend in the way of football! On the way home from Jacksonville on Sunday we stopped in Savannah and ate at Love's Seafood where they filmed part of Forrest Gump. That food was yummy, too! I enjoyed riding through all of the small towns as much as anything else. You know me, I'm a magnet to the Historic South! Now we are back to another week of reality at school....:( Here is the link to my photo album of the weekend: http://uga.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2034200&l=a6156&id=51101052
